Then & Now –
10 Years Later
I was reading “In The Wind” recently and I always enjoy a feature that they do that shows people back “Then” and “Now”. It made me think. It was 1998 when Molly and I started “The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine” We worked on the first issue for 6 weeks. It was 40 pages. We printed 10,000 copies. I remember when we opened the truck and there sat a pallet of magazines and I went, “Oh, My God!” as I wondered where I was going to put all those magazines. We loaded them in the truck and hit our advertisers first. Then we put them everywhere we could think of. Molly would get out at traffic lights and hand them to bikers. When the light changed, we would drive off laughing as they tucked them under their butts and took off. Then I sold ALL the ads. Then I knew ALL of the advertisers.
Now we have 15 days between delivery and time to upload another issue. Now we have a staff of nearly 50 people who sell and distribute The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine and it is nearly impossible for me to keep up with all of the advertisers. Now we have no trouble getting rid of three times as many magazines as then, I cannot count all of the businesses that we have advertised over the 10 years that we have been in business, but I can tell you the ones that have been supporting us from the beginning: Harley-Davidson of Greensboro, Jim’s Motor Service, Big Dog of Greensboro, Davis Harley-Davidson, Curly’s Harley-Davidson, Professional Insurance Consultants, and until just a few months ago, Eagle V-Twins. THANK YOU for your trust (then) and your continued support (now).
There are others that have supported us through the years and we are appreciative of them, too. In fact, with out all of them, we wouldn’t be here today. We have only had ONE PRICE INCREASE IN 10 YEARS!
Now we get 8-10 pallets of magazines every month that average 96 pages. Has it turned into work? Only about 12 hours a day. Do I still like what I do? You bet I do! In fact, we have gotten pretty good at what we do. Our staff knows their responsibilities and they do their jobs pretty well. They deserve a lot of the praise for what The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine has become. Again, without them, we wouldn’t be here today. Am I proud? You bet I am! We have all worked very hard and have earned it. We will continue to earn your business every month. I promise.
If you would like to get on board with The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine for the next 10 years, whether it be as an advertiser or a sales representative, please give us a call now. The sooner you call, the sooner The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine can get to work with you.
Thanks for 10 great years!

Full Throttle Magazine

The Carolinas' Full Throttle Magazine is entirely supported by our advertisers, whom we appreciate greatly. They are the reason this magazine is, and will always be, a free publication. It would be great, as you pick up your copy this month, to let the advertisers know that you saw their ad and you appreciate the support they give to the riding community by advertising in The Carolinas' Full Throttle Magazine. It wouldn't hurt to buy something, either!
We are determined to continue to work hard to keep this publication #1 in the Carolinas. We need people to cover events and sell advertising all over the Carolinas. If you would like to come along for the ride, just give us a call. We are bikers who publish a magazine, not publishers who own motorcycles!
If you have an event that you want to see on the web and/or in the magazine, call us at 888-469-5400 or visit The Carolina's Full Throttle Online Cruisin' Calendar to post your event. Leave as much information as possible!
The cowards never started and the weak died along the way!
